How we will stop polio

Polio's days are numbered

#Polio's days are numbered!

...................................................................................

Poliomyelitis is still around
Make no mistake; it still can be found.
For survivors lamed,
Crippled may shout,
Vaccinate now! Vaccinate now!
Polio’s days are numbered
The fight is on, the battle sure
Protect your child
For there’s no cure
Polio kills!
Polio cripples!
No future regrets,
Protect them now!
Come join the battle,
Just fight the bug.
The time is near, then no more fear,
Just vaccinate, vaccinate!

Immunization Saves Lives

Pulse Polio 2013

Pulse Polio is an immunisation campaign established by the government of India in 1995-96 to eradicate poliomyelitis (polio) in India by vaccinating all children under the age of five years against polio virus.

The Pulse Polio Initiative (PPI) aims at covering every individual in the country. It aspires to reach even children in remote communities through an improved social mobilisation plan.

The last case of Polio in INDIA was on 30th January 2011. WHO has already declared India as non endemic country for Poliomyelitis.

This year the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization is scheduled to be held on 20th January 2013 & 24th February 2013. The Pulse Polio activity this year requires highest level ofadministrative ownership, committment & support along with provision of highest quality services as any distraction or loss of quality at this stage will imperil all streanuous efforts made to date, and risk failure at the brink of success.
